Résumé des activités principales
Openscreen is an open platform for movie makers and movie lovers who have a passion for experimentation. Openscreen welcomes the world to the big screen and pushes traditional perceptions of what a movie should be and how audiences should be involved. Movies should be about play and creativity. The main activities are the Classic and Special Openscreen events, that are organised several times a year in original and unexpected locations to encourage new ideas and open discussions. There are no juries, awards and no registration procedures. The only criteria is that movies should be only up to 20 minutes long. Openscreen is also encouraging movie makers to rework movies based on the feedback received during the event and are happy to show the new version.
Special events focus on a specific topics in relation to the location or the time of the year (e.g. music videos in the Rockhal, horror movies in the forest of Ellergronn or architecture at the LUCA center).
KAPPKINO/EARCINEMA is a new type of events offered by Openscreen asbl since september 2015. You are able to listen to many interesting audioproductions in an cosy setting, encouraging to concentrate on the sound. The listeners will be immersed in their very own imagination.
In 2014, Openscreen had the pleasure to screen German short film LOVE STEAKS in exclusivity in Luxembourg.
Openscreen has also collected an impressive archive of short films and music videos from Luxembourg since it started operating in 2004 with then monthly events.
Activities are usually focused on Luxembourg but not necessarily. Movie makers worldwide are invited to participate.

Description du projet :
...is a first of all a setting. You sit in the dark, on a comfortable chair, and
listen to audio pieces, with your friends, with other people. As in this setting
concentration is entirely set on listening, silence has a different emphasis,
in opposition to radiopieces or podcasts which are not allowed to loose the
attention of the audience.
We had 3 events which were mainly fed with productions from the likes of
atelier de création sonore radiophonique Brussels or Arte Radio for example.
Luxemburgish productions were almost non-existing apart from that one
audiopiece by R22.
... becomes now a production of specific audiopieces, entirely produced in
Luxemburg with the crucial support of CCRD OPDERSCHMELZ and CNA.
The new aspect is that the whole piece is staged live, which makes it an
unique experience for the audience.
The first piece is Wou ginn Elteren nuets hin/Where do parents go at night,
written by Claudine Muno, directed by Dan Tanson, narrated by
Betsy Dentzer, the score is played by Natasa Grujovic and Misch Feinen.
The play has been staged 4 times already. It premiered on 22.10.2017 during
the Festival «Touch of Noir» at Opderschmelz in Dudelange with 45 listeners.
150 people in total were ready to make the experience, at nëimenster and
Kulturfabrik Esch. The reaction was positive. People enjoyed it very much,
especially youth was very receptive.
Objectifs futurs et prochaines priorités :
The next step is to make a studiorecording at the CNA in March 2018 and
make it available on vinyl and on digital platforms.
In 2018 we want to develop the Kappkino Experience further, negociations
are ongoing, and make it grow.
