Following on from the Stiftungsgespräche held in Germany over the past two years, and in preparation for the conference organised in September 2010 on foundation networks, Banque de Luxembourg has decided to open up a forum for discussion for Luxembourg foundations.

The first workshop, which brought together around twenty foundation directors, was held on 9 June at the Bank's head office with talks by:

• Marco Hoffmann, Chairman of the Fondation "l’Accès au Logement" (presentation of the foundation's activities - providing access to housing - and the services offered by the social estate agency)
• Kristiaan Tokka, Director of the Gifts division of the French-based "Fondation d’Auteuil" who spoke about "Legacies, donations and codes of ethics"
• Cathy Fayot, private banking adviser, Banque de Luxembourg (“Managing Foundation finances – the key principles")
• Jane Wilkinson, Director, KPMG Luxembourg Foundation ("Corporate foundations in Luxembourg – responding to calls for projects")
