Workshop 3 : foundation role and impact

Foundations are big by the expectations they set in society but small by their size compared to other actors. This is especially true when resources become more limited in challenging times. Foundations may have had to take measures such as cutting grant making programmes and internal cost savings or exploring new co-funding and refocusing their strategies.

With the help of practitioners, the workshop will explore:
• How have foundations effectively modified their grant making over the last months?
• With fewer resources available, what are the critical choices to be made and measures to be taken?
• How can a foundation individually, and then the sector, best leverage resources to create impact today?
